A few months back, we came across the work of Irem Arig, a graduate of Central St. Martin’s College of Art & Design in the UK. Irem spins the most playful skeins of yarn in totally unexpected colour combination. Her signature yarn is a single-ply super chunky yarn that features overtwisted bits here and there. Made out of 100% vibrant South African Merino wool, Twisted Bobbles is amazingly soft to the touch and quite remarkably each skein of yarn is absolutely and entirely spun by Irem, herself! These are artisanal yarns that have the feel of something done in small batches, slowly and with care.
Recommended needle size is 9-10mm (US13-15), although you could use 12mm (US17) if you're wanting the overtwisted bobbles to show up a bit more when it's knitting up. With each skein consisting of 100g you can easily knit up a snood or a hat with some yarn to spare!
Sheep of Steel Twisted Bobbles is sold as a skein. We are happy to wind the skein into a ball for you (just leave us a note to do so in the comment box). Please note that all skeins once wound into a ball are non-refundable.
