For anyone who can't get enough of Betsy and Chambray . . . we commissioned Liberty to exclusively print Betsy on their Montana Chambray base for us. Part of Liberty's Classic range since 1933, the Betsy print was created and initialed 'DS' by the original, in-house designer.
Meredith's whipped up an awesome dress in this fabric which can be found here.
Unlike Tana Lawn, Liberty's Montana Chambray base cloth measures approximately 57" wide (~145 cm). Montana Chambray is slightly heavier in weight than Tana Lawn, measuring in at 108 g/sqm vs 76 g/sqm for Tana Lawn. 108 g/sqm is equivalent to 3.2 oz per square yard. Still, Montana Chambray is a lightweight fabric. If you have purchased Liberty Chambray previously, please note that Montana Chambray is more lightweight compared to Tucson Chambray or Liberty Japan's Chambray. The background color is a light blue. In the photos above, we show it next to Betsy Tana Lawn T and Betsy Tana Lawn D, so that you can get a better sense of how the color compares. Please note that this particular fabric may appear more a darker or lighter blue under different lighting; it is a true chambray fabric featuring white weft and colored warp, allowing it to reflect color and light in a more nuanced manner.
Sold in 1/4 meter (0.27 yards) increments. Price is for a 1/4 meter. We cut additional increments of fabric continuously. For example, if you select 4 units (which equates to 1 meter), you will receive a single piece of fabric that is 54" wide and 1 meter long. We regret that fabric, once cut, is non-refundable.
Montana Chambray sells for $36/meter or $9 for a 1/4 meter strip.
