May Morris designed three wallpapers for Morris & Co: Honeysuckle, Hornpoppy, and Arcadia. Dating from c.1886, Arcadia was her final wallpaper design for the firm before she devoted herself almost entirely to embroidery. Nearly 140 years later, the Liberty studio has carefully revived this wonderful pattern, preserving the delicate linework, subtle tonal variations, and considered colour harmony of the original. Celebrated as a quintessential Arts & Crafts botanical, the design presents intertwined floral stems against a backdrop of hawthorn leaves and flowers, carrying forward Morris’ enduring design legacy.

Drawing inspiration from the William Morris Gallery archive, Liberty Fabrics creates this carefully curated range of designs that champion vibrant florals and intricate botanicals, each one meticulously hand-painted in Liberty's London studio and printed on our inimitable Tana Lawn™ cotton.
Fabric measures 53" wide. Printed on superfine 100% OEKO Tex Class 1, cotton lawn (Weight: 76 g/sqm). Designed in UK, printed in Italy.
Sold and priced in 1/4 meter (0.27 yards) increments. We cut additional increments of fabric continuously. For example, if you select 4 units (which equates to 1 meter), you will receive a single piece of fabric that is 53" wide and 1 meter long.
