Ianthe was created by well-known French Art Nouveau designer R. Beauclair in approximately 1900, and was later redrawn by David Haward’s Studio. Ianthe is Greek for purple or violet flowers, suggesting that the flowers in the design may have originally been drawn from violets.
A note on color: the fabric reads as a dark blue --- a dark dark blue on a slightly less dark dark blue. The fabric is darker in person than it will appear in the photos.
